Canadian composer John Estacio’s work, “Ours”, will have its World Premiere at Opera on the Avalon and runs for only two nights, July 1 and 2, 2016. The stunning new work is set in Atlantic Canada and commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel. With libretto by Robert Chafe, the opera is directed by DEAN ARTISTS Glynis Leyshon, and stars fellow DEAN ARTISTS soprano Lara Ciekiewicz as May, bass baritone Stephen Hegedus as Field Marshall Haig, and mezzo Elizabeth Turnbull as Elizabeth Crowley.
