Toronto, January 11, 2016… Bruce Dean, Chairman and Founder of Dean Artists Management today announced the appointment of Alison Pybus as President and CEO effective immediately. “I’m delighted that Alison will be joining our team” said Dean. “Her global experience in arts management will be an invaluable asset in further developing the careers of the singers, conductors and stage directors on our roster”.
Ms Pybus brings to the firm 20 years of experience as the Vice President of the Vocal Division at IMG Artists, New York and a deep personal knowledge of the vocal repertoire. Born in Toronto, Canada, she earned both her Honors Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and her Masters of Operatic Performance from the University of Toronto. Upon graduation, Ms Pybus became a member of Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal and was subsequently awarded a grant by the Canada Council for further study in Vienna. Soon however, she discovered that her real passion lay on the business side of the opera world. Her unique, in-depth, hands-on management style quickly earned her a roster of leading singers. Within a year she helped co-found Dean Artists Management under the aegis of Talent House and Bruce Dean. Her reputation grew and two years later, IMG Artists London offered her a position not only as a senior level manager with an international roster, but also with the mandate to discover, manage and promote promising young artists. From London, Alison was promoted to Vice President of the Vocal Division of IMG New York.
She returns to Dean Artists with the goal of expanding the growth targets of the firm nationally and internationally.
